To ground a lighting fixture, you must first remove the fixture canopy. Next, connect one end of the ground wire to the ground screw on the crossbar. Then thread the ground wire next to the fixture wire through the fixture chain (if applicable). Finally, securely connect the other end of the ground wire to the body of the light fixture using the existing locknut and washer.
